How to watch Super Bowl 52 LII without a cable subscription - Patriots Vs Eagles

How to stream Super Bowl 52

Quick Super Bowl 52 Info

  • Date - Sunday February 4th
  • Time - 6:30 PM Eastern Standard Time
  • TV Station Broadcasting - NBC
  • Teams - Philadelphia Eagles vs New England Patriots

It's that time of the year again! The Philadelphia Eagles will be competing against the New England Patriots for the NFL championship and the coveted Lombardi Trophy! The Super Bowl is one of the most watched television events worldwide, but how do you watch it is you don't have a cable subscription? We are about to tell you :)

Local HD Antenna

Incase you don't know, we absolutely love HD Antennas! We love them so much in fact that we partnered with Mohu, the largest antenna manufacturer in the United States to sell their two most popular models. If you do not have an Local HD Antenna we highly suggest looking into getting one! Not only can you watch the Super Bowl on your local NBC station in crystal clear HD, you can get tons of other channels for free!

Yahoo Sports App

Yahoo will also be streaming the Superbowl this year within their Yahoo Sports app. When you open the app the screen may go black for a few seconds, then it will prompt you to pick a team, bla bla bla, just click on one and click skip or done and you will be brought to the home page. We do not believe that you will need to sign in to watch the Superbowl, but as the game is not on yet we have no way to test.

NBC Sports App - Possible

The NBC Sports app normally requires you to sign in using your cable subscriptions account information. There are conflicting reports over whether NBC will remove the cable subscription requirement like FOX did last year. We hope that they do for streaming sakes! This is the first time NBC is streaming an event on this kind of scale, so lets hope they have a lot of bandwidth reserved so that it does not buffer. Things like that can and do happen, which is why we like HD antennas over apps for an event like this.

IMPORTANT - The NBC Sports app requires that your location be turned on! Skystream Android streaming media players do not have a GPS sensor installed so you will need to turn on the locations battery saving feature which will force the app to use your internet signal to determine your location. The location setting is found in the settings of your device. Here is a link to the article we wrote on how to Stream the Super Bowl using the Fox Sports Go app which also requires the same location settings.

FOX SPORTS GO App - Possible

Fox streamed the Superbowl on the Fox Sports Go app for Super Bowl 51 last year. We have read from many news sources that they will also be streaming this years Super Bowl, however we cannot confirm that. We also do not know if they will open up the app for viewers who do not have a cable subscription. But it may not be a bad back up if NBC has any streaming issues.

Sling TV, Hulu Live, Fubo TV, Etc...

All of the above are paid streaming services that carry the NBC channel. If you are a subscriber to any of these or another paid streaming sources that carry the NBC channel you will be able to stream the Super Bowl. Most paid streaming services offer free trials for new users. There are also other paid streaming services that carry the NBC channel. If you subscribe to one of those you should be able to watch the Super Bowl.

Conclusion

A Local HD Antenna is always your best bet for local channels is HD. We really hope that NBC and FOX both open up their apps to non cable subscribers so that they can watch the superbowl. Some people live in areas that are too far away to receive TV broadcast signals even with a high quality HD antenna and we do not feel that they should be forced to pay for a cable subscription to watch something like the Super Bowl, which is pretty much a national event.
